Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, chopped
- Extra strawberries for decoration
- Whipped cream or frosting (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, mixing gently.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool, then decorate with fresh strawberries and whipped cream if desired.
